I recommend using thick natural leather at least 5 Oz (2 mm thick) for getting the best result that will guarantee a long lasting piece that can be worn or displayed.

Easy to follow, well done and overall exactly what I expected.

Another good pattern. It took closer to 5 sqft of leather while the materials list on the pattern called for 15. At around $7 US per sqft of leather, approximately $8 worth of dye, and maybe $5 worth of optional hardware, the project cost me nearly $50 in materials. The time required to produce this hat is moderately high so once again I recommend purchasing the finished product rather than spending the ~20 hours to build it. That is of course unless you enjoy leather working and already have the necessary tools to undertake such an endeavor. I would say this project is relatively beginner friendly being only 3 parts with no terribly hard cuts. It was however some of the most tedious and time consuming stitching I've done because of large pieces, long stitch runs, and bends. I have stepbystep photos I would be happy to share.

Awesoem pattern and a great guy to work with. Tony was super helpful and resourceful as I was getting into my project. I built the hat and a mask for Halloween this year and I couldn't be happier with the results!
